Step one
These instructions replace the 20-minute arrival language in the 2019 River's End trip packet. If River's End tells you something different on the day, they win.
8:00 AM at Bailey Resort. Arrive fueled, dressed for rafting, and ready to leave on time. We do a final head count, sort out vehicles, and roll out together.

Skip the rally and go directly to the rafting center. Arrive one full hour before the group's rafting time — that hour is for parking, check-in, waiver processing, equipment fitting, and the safety briefing.

Step two
River's End may refuse service to anyone under the influence, without a refund.
Triple digits are normal. Start hydrating the night before, drink more than you think you need at check-in, and reapply sunscreen after you get wet. Tell your guide if you start feeling dizzy or stop sweating.
One small bag for the river, one sealed bag for your dry change. Label both. Lock anything valuable out of sight in your vehicle before you walk to check-in.
Step three
The river is fun because it's real. Moving water, rocks, slippery surfaces, paddles, heat, cold water, and a genuine chance of going in.
Every participant signs the River's End participant agreement and assumption-of-risk form. A parent or guardian must complete the additional section for anyone under 18.
Print it and sign it before you leave home. The packet asks guests to submit the completed form at check-in — a raft full of people filling out paperwork in the parking lot is how a group misses its launch slot.

Keep your life jacket and helmet fastened. Follow paddle commands. Hold the safety line when your guide tells you to.
Do not stand up in moving water. If you go in, stay calm, get your feet up and downstream, and follow rescue instructions.
Hydrate, apply sunscreen, and tell your guide about any medical, mobility, or swimming concerns before you get on the water — not after.
The agreement includes a clause allowing River's End to photograph participants and use those images for marketing. If that matters to you, raise it with them at check-in rather than after the trip.
Footwear, packing, waiver, prohibited-item, parking, and general safety guidance is adapted from the River's End trip packet supplied by the organizer. That packet is dated 2019 (archived copy). Current instructions from River's End and from the event host supersede anything on this page.
Getting there
If you reach the mouth of the canyon, you've gone too far. Turn around, or call 661-326-7003 and they'll talk you in.
Follow the on-site signs to the main rafting-center lot or the additional parking area, then walk to the marked check-in point. Don't block roadways or equipment access.
Back at Bailey Resort for food, music, birthday photos, stories from the river, and the part of the day that's actually about Andrea. Come dry, come hungry.

Quick answers
Yes. Assume you will be soaked and pack accordingly. A full dry change of clothes is not optional.
Only in a sealed waterproof pouch, and you're responsible for it. Plenty of guests leave phones locked in the car and shoot the BBQ instead.
Yes. Secure water shoes, strap-on sandals, or old athletic shoes. Bare feet and loose flip-flops will not be allowed on the water.
Yes, and signing it at home saves the whole group time. River's End asks for the completed form at check-in. Download it here. Anyone under 18 needs the parent or guardian section filled in too.
No. Everyone receiving this link is already a paid participant. There is no collection, no RSVP, and nothing to settle up on the day.
